Sharath Chandra + Catalina Alzate

Sharath Chandra Ram (Sharathchandra Ramakrishnan) practice and research interests lie at the intersection of law, technology and society with a focus on Open Education (Open Science and Open Harddware), Open Spectrum, Citizen Science and ICT4D. As a licensed amateur radio broadcaster (callsign: VU3HPA), he is actively interested in communication policy research, radio astronomy, extends his art-science practice as a transmission artist and has installed his sound and multimedia work in several national and international avenues. He is Faculty at the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology at the Centre for Experimental Media Arts and the Information Arts and Information Design Practices (IAIDP) Program. He specialized in HCI and Virtual Environments at the University of Edinburgh, School of Informatics and is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Art Technology and Emerging Communication at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Catalina Alzate es socióloga y artista. Catalina trabaja con pedagogías participativas para entender el rol de la tecnología en la sociedad y en la cultura, explorando las relaciones de poder en los sistemas digitales. Su experiencia profesional se basa en India y Colombia, donde trabaja en temas como microfinanzas, monedas digitales, toma de decisiones colectivas y cooperación. Los medios con los que experimenta incluyen audio drama, teatro integral, interfaces emergentes y publicaciones experimentales. Actualmente, Catalina enseña en Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology en Bangalore, India en el programa de Information Art and Information Design Practices.
